Wednesday Hodgepodge Vol. 255

Happy Wednesday ya’ll!  I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  I have submitted taxes for work, filed our personal taxes, and have the game planned for the kids’ Valentine’s Day party on Friday.  Woot!  Since it is Wednesday, that means it is time for Wednesday Hodgepodge!  The Hodgepodge is a super-fun post and swap where we answer random questions provided by Joyce and then link up and read every one else’s answers… so read on, for the Love Edition…

1. Create an acrostic using the word LOVE.

Love is
Overcoming the
Very worst and
Enjoying the best

I cheated… I found it on the internet.

2. Does love really conquer all? Why or why not?

Up to a point… and then I think skill, common sense, and smarts take over.

3. Tell us about a time recently, where you really put your heart into something.

I wanted to sew Bo something because I am always sewing Mo doll clothes and nightgowns.  So, Nana and I were at the fabric store  and I searched high and low for something to make Bo.  I found this super-cute monkey pattern and picked out this soft, fleecy fabric… I get home and show him what I am making and his response was “I want a Superman cape.”  So glad I put my heart into that one…

4. What’s your favorite fictional love story?

Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster

5. Do you generally wear your heart on your sleeve, or keep your cards close to the vest?

I always keep my cards close to the vest.  It’s safer that way – no one can use your emotions against you.

6. What food says love to you? Why?

Most people would probably say chocolate, but I think homemade chicken pot pie.  The kind with the rolled out and hand cut dumplings.  I remember my grandma making it and my mom making it… and Don’s grandma makes it now.  I just bite into it and it feels and tastes like love to me.

7. When were you last ‘tickled pink’ over something? Explain.

When Bo, Mo and I couldn’t stop laughing over the phrase “A few french fries shy of a Happy Meal.”  Bo kept saying it wrong and we got to laughing so hard none of us could breathe and I was crying.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

It is very, very cold outside and the heater in my office isn’t working the best.  I am super cold.  My hands are cold and my nose is cold.  Brrrrrr….

  1. these are great…it has been a very long time since we had homemade old fashion chicken potpie….

  2. I think comfort foods say love. Homemade chicken pot pie is definitely one of those. I know my hubs feels loved when I make that dish. It’s really cold here this morning too. Hope your office warms up!
