Vacation for Five Question Friday?

June 28, 2013

There must be a vacation for Five Question Friday.   So sad.  I am seriously bummed.  Spent a wonderful two and a half days on my own– spent some time in Amish Country.  Wonderful and beautiful times.  Very relaxing.  Well, since I missed last week’s Five Question Friday, I thought I would answer those questions instead… so, here we go…

Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky post to appear Friday morning and LINK UP!

Oh, and remember (pay close attention…this is the important one)…HAVE FUN!

Questions for Friday, June 21st: (Special thanks to Pam (@trooppetrie) from Troop Petrie, Juli (@kneatfreak) from The Pickle to Me, Jennifer (@JenniferOvery) from The Days of a SAHM, Brooke (@hallbro) from Brooke and Michael and Mama M for these 5QF question suggestions! She would love to link you in a future 5QF, so follow on Twitter (@5crookedhalos) and/or like her  Facebook page and watch for the Thursday shout out plea for questions! Remember to follow @5crookedhalos and use hashtag #5QF if you go the Twitter route!)

1. Have you ever been robbed and how did you handle it?

I have never had anything major stolen– not to long ago, I had some cash taken from my desk drawer at work.  I don’t know who did it, but obviously they needed the $1.35 more than I did for a pop.

2. What do you do at a kids function when Parents don’t behave? Meaning they are the ones being impatient and rude.

I try to steer my kids away from them.  I hate that– especially at sporting events when they are hard on their kids.  I just want to turn to them and say “This isn’t the freaking NFL and there isn’t a scholarship riding on it.”   But, to make a point… there was one kid whose parents (okay, dad) was always on him during sporting events– he was in a lot of sports with my brother.  I did turn to him one day and told him to shut up and to stop before his kid turned into a druggie and was good-for-nothing.  Hmmm… guess what… his kid turned into a druggie and good-for-nothing.  Let the kids have fun people… let them have fun.

3. Have you heard of a potty party? Will you/have you had one for your child(ren)?

I have two 4 year olds… everytime I go to the potty it is a potty party… kids, dog…  In seriousness though, I have never heard of a potty party.  Kinda weird.

4. How young do you think kids should be when they start taking swim lessons?

Around 3 or 4.  Which, I need to get my kids signed up for.  However, I took lessons at 4.  I had a lot of ear problems growing up and had to drop out because I kept getting swimmers ear… and to this day I can’t swim and it scares me knowing I probably couldn’t save my kids.  I have dreams/nightmares about it sometimes.  That being said, I have plans to take swimming lessons because I was promised that I could go kayaking as soon as I did.

5. What makes you happy?

Hearing my kids laugh.  Their uncontrollable belly-laughs.  The laughs that make me laugh.  The laughs that leave us lying on the floor gasping for breath.
