My Soccer Stars
This week was a week of firsts – the first soccer practices and the first day of school. I put my foot down a few years ago about buying a minivan… and now I have one. I always swore I would never be a soccer mom… and now I am one. So, I guess you could say I am a minivan driving soccer mom. Both kids did great at soccer, thanks to my niece Loren and her helping them learn the basics. My most proudest moment, however, was when Mo and her team was playing “sharks” and Mo was the shark. A little girl that Mo was chasing fell and instead of kicking the ball out of bounds, Mo stopped and helped the little girl up to make sure she was okay. THEN, kicked the ball back to her.
Just a note, whenever there are other children in the pictures below, I have blurred their faces to protect their privacy.
I never know what to do about pictures of strangers. Do you only blur the faces of children or do you follow the same practice for adults? Not that I post many pictures of crowds or whatever but I have wondered what SOP is for that.
Welcome to the soccer mom club!! I’ve been a card carrying member for way too many years. In fact, I just got back from my oldest’s high school soccer game. He started when he was 7. Have fun! (Really. I love watching soccer games.)
Oh, and minivans are awesome.
