Halloween 2013 – the year Mo and Bo got to Trick or Treat for the first time! Seriously, we have tried for the past 2 years, but every year it has rained or been cold and icky outside. We just have bad luck with rain on Halloween. This year, our town’s trick or treat day was cold and rainy, but I found out the small town next to us rescheduled theirs. So, on Saturday, we headed up that way to take the kids Trick or Treating for the first time.
I am not really sure what Bo is doing. I asked him to stand still for a picture.
This sweet lady at the EMS building was our first Trick or Treat.
This is the “not another picture Mom!” look.
Our Princess and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Right after this house with the jail birds, it started raining. I kid you not.
I told you, we attract rain on Halloween like moths to a light. But, at least the kids got to go to a few houses for the first time. Hopefully next year will be better weather… or maybe we should look into going somewhere that has Trick or Treating inside…
The funny thing is, the kids haven’t asked for their candy once since we went… go figure.
Great pictures! Was a fantastic time looking forward to next year. With a little luck it will be nice outside. They had a ball to, was neat watching them.
I should hope so…we’ve had enough rain on Halloween.
When my kids were growing up we could always count on rain (or sleet) for Halloween. I just had a conversation with my daughter, discussing that it would make way more sense for Halloween to be in the summer when kids are off from school, there are so many more hours of daylight and the weather might be better or at least wouldn’t require a down coat over the costume! Would we have to move All Soul’s Day and All Saint’s Day too? Or just admit that Halloween is a secular, commercial holiday and sever all ties with its historical connections? Just a thought.
