Five Question Friday? April 19th

April 19, 2013

So, Mama M is taking a week off and there are no questions for Five Question Friday.  I didn’t know, so I didn’t schedule anything for today.  I am at a loss for what to write about.  So, being the inventive person I am, I went and stalked Mama M’s blog and found an old set of questions from June 2010 that I am going to answer… because, frankly, my brain is fried this morning.  But, who knows… the day is young, I might be back sometime today with something else…

1. What is your favorite thing about summertime?

The cookouts.  The fireworks for 4th of July.  The long days.  Fireflies.  Car shows.  Parades.  Flowers.  Water fights.

2. What is your ideal retirement location (if money didn’t matter)?

Definitely, the mountains somewhere.  A huge cabin with a wall of windows overlooking the forest.  No one around for miles.  Lots of books.

3. Do you live in the same town you grew up in?

No, i don’t.  I lived my entire childhood in the same town, then moved to a larger, military town close by.  About three years ago, we moved to a small (smaller than the town I grew up in) rural town that is surrounded by farms and fields and cows.  I love it.

4. What nervous habit did you have as a child that you kicked to the curb before becoming an adult?

I used to take my pens or pencils and tap them really fast repeatedly.  I don’t do that anymore.  I can’t stand repetitive noise like that.  Drives me nuts.

5. What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you while on the job?

Probably the absolutely most embarrassing thing was while I was at the car dealership.  I was upstairs in the office and normally none of the sales guys would come up there.  I was talking to the office manager and said, “Those used car salesmen are a bunch of dumb*##es.”  I heard a gasp and turned around and the used car sales manager was standing right behind me.  I wanted the world to open up and swallow me whole.

Well, I would tell you to link up but since Mama M’s not hosting this week… just enjoy my answers, have a laugh at my expense and come back soon!

I would add the most embarassing thing at the job was when you wore a price tag on your clothes all day and no one said anything!

I attended a teacher conference day and wore a tag “special ed” since that was my department. I forgot that I was still wearing it and went off to a college that I used to attend to get transcripts. I wondered why people were all smiling at me, I truly thought everyone was just super friendly that day. Well when I got back to my car and put my seat belt on, I saw it. I sat in shock and wanted to cry. What a dummy I was, LOL.
