Castaway Bay in Sandusky, Ohio
Last weekend, I was given the opportunity to take my family to Castaway Bay in Sandusky, Ohio. We had never been to Castaway Bay or even to an indoor water park, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect.
All of us had an absolute blast! Not only do they have the indoor water park, but there is also a 6000 square foot arcade, several restaurants, a full-service day spa, and Camp Castaway for kids.
And, as Bo summed it up, “Mommy, I’m having too much fun.”
We stayed in a Starfish Room with a view of the bay. Super awesome! The room was gorgeous in a Caribbean-theme. Super-relaxing and included a mini-fridge, microwave, and deck chairs. Yes, there was a balcony that you could sit out on and enjoy the bay… well, if it wasn’t 15ºF outside.
It might have been 15° outside… but it is always 82º at Castaway Bay!
Like I mentioned above, we weren’t quite sure what to expect at the water park. But, there is literally something for all ages! Castaway Bay offers a toddlers’ tide pool, a wave pool, several water slides, a tube run, Creature Cove, Cargo Crossing, two hot tubs (indoor and out), a family fun house, and an outdoor swimming pool. Check out there virtual water park tour to see the water park in action.
See that big bucket? That bucket holds 1000 gallons of water. Warning: when you hear the bell? Take cover. I heard the bell and didn’t know what it meant. I now know it means ‘the bucket is tipping, prepare to get drenched!’ Yeah, I know that now.
As you can see, Mo and Bo had a blast in the Toddler’s Tide Pool.
After spending all morning in Castaway Bay, we hit the Crabbie’s Quarterdeck Arcade until we dried out. Super cool and alot of fun. The kids had a blast playing games and winning tickets to exchange for prizes. There is even games for the youngest visitors.
After playing all morning, we decided to eat lunch and head on home. There are several choices. We decided on TGI Fridays which is adjacent and connected to the resort. There is also Big Daddy’s Snack Shack (located in the water park), Ebb and Eddy’s, and Mango Mikes.
If you are looking for a great place to take the kids… definitely head to Castaway Bay! And trust me, it was a quiet ride home… the kids slept the entire way.
This momma gives Castaway Bay two thumbs up! Well, actually 8… the Hubs and the twins give two thumbs up too!

We have an outdoor waterpark locally and we love the big bucket! It’s probably one of our favorite places in the waterpark. That’s probably where you would find my family first. 🙂 Thanks for a great giveaway! Tammy
