Black Friday? No Thank You.

It’s Black Friday.  I got up at 7 am.  Not to shop, but to get some work done that I brought home.  I went black Friday shopping once.  And, it was enough.  No, I’d rather stay in my jammies, snuggle with my kids, watch cartoons and relax in my warm house.

Granted, I might not get the deals or steals… but, I don’t have to worry about finding a parking spot, pushing and shoving, adults acting like preschoolers, craziness at the stores… nah, I’m good at home.  Every year, when I post something on Black Friday, I always chuckle… who is reading it?  Are you standing in a long line at the store on my blog?  If you are, thank you.

Cyber Monday is more my speed.  However, after Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday… please, don’t forget Giving Tuesday.  Giving Tuesday is a time to stop and give back to others through charitable donations.  While any charity would love to have a donation in the spirit of the season, near and dear to our hearts this year is colon cancer research.  So, if you are looking for a worthwhile charity, please visit the Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation.

If you are out in the craziness of the retail world… good luck and stay warm.  If you are at home in your jammies watching TV, I salute you with my cup of cappuccino.  Good for you on standing your ground.

Black Friday?  No thank you.

  1. oh it wasnt too bad out there today didnt get any great deals but then wasnt looking for anything in particular just shopping!

  2. As we were out and about driving on Friday (and even on Thanksgiving Day!) we passed by the mall parking lots just jammed with cars. I can honestly say I had no desire to join the crowds and, although I wasn’t sitting home in my jammies with a cup of coffee, I was driving to meet up with family for some food and fun. Much more my idea of an enjoyable day!
