Monday Listicles: 10 Favorite Movie Quotes

I am so excited for this week’s Monday Listicles.  I have a few movies that I love and know a lot of the lines from… quotes that I try to work into my every day life on a daily basis.  Some of the times, people get the reference, and other times not… but, it makes me chuckle to myself and that makes it worth it… so, here it goes…

10.  Cars

Lightning McQueen:  Holy Porsche!

9.  Blues Brothers

Elwood:  We’re on a mission from God.

8.  Heart Like  a Wheel

Reporter:  What’s a beautiful girl like you doing at a race track like this?

Shirley Muldowney:  Winning.

7.  Adventures in Babysitting

Albert Collins:  Nobody leaves this place without singing the blues.

6.  Blues Brothers

Elwood:  Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration, don’t fail me now.

5.  Adventures in Babysitting

Chris:  Don’t worry.  We’ll get home.  This has all just been a big mistake.

Sarah:  What about Brenda?

Brad:  That was her parents’ mistake.

4.  Fast and the Furious

Dom:  I live my life a quarter mile at a time.  Nothing else matters:  not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit.  For those ten seconds or less, I’m free.

3.  Fast and the Furious

Dom:  It starts with the eyes.  She’s gotta have those kind of eyes that can look right through the bullshit, to the good in someone.  20% angel, 80% devil.  Down to earth.  Ain’t afraid to get a little engine grease under her fingernails.

2.  Blues Brothers

Elwood:  It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full take of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark, and we’re wearing sunglasses.

Jake:  Hit it.

1.  The best movie line of all time…. Gumball Rally

Smith (after their cars were impounded):  Um… how are going to get back to New York?

Bannon:  Hadn’t given it much thought.

Bannon:  This is ridiculous.

Bannon:  Where do you get cars around here?

Smith:  Well, it’s America, babe.

Bannon (to Professor Graves):  Gumball.

Okay… those mine?  If you haven’t seen any of these movies, I highly suggest them.  There seems to be a recurring theme in all my quotes… lol.  You can imagine the looks I get when I interject these sometimes… but, it cracks me up.  Of course, I am easily amused.
What is your favorite movie quote?

  1. I’ve seen Cars lots of times and Fast and Furious once. I don’t even think it was the whole thing. Looks like I’ve got some movies to rent.
Besides Talladega Nights, the only other car movie I love, love, loved was Stroker Ace. Did you ever see that one? Burt Reynolds and Loni Anderson. Funny, funny. At least in my mind years ago. I think I would still find it funny. 🙂

  2. Love you for quoting Adventures in Babysitting. I just used that line the other day in a blog post.
I am quite certain and it’s probably why I didn’t let him – that my husband would have done a list solely on Cannonball Run quotes. oye. 🙂

    1. I’ve said that in meetings “that’s Brenda’s parents’ problem.” And my boss always cracks up and no one else gets it. LOL.

  3. I loved Adventures in Babysitting. I found it for cheap in at Walmart and thought the kids would love it. I didn’t realize how much language and suggestive stuff was in it until I watched it with my tweens. Funny how that changes things!
