I am sure you have seen the rubber band bracelet craze around town. I wasn’t sure the twins were old enough to make the bracelets, so when FriendlyBands contacted me about reviewing their SunshineLoom for free, I was rather skeptical. I am so glad I agreed though! Mo, Bo, and I have had the best time making bracelets and doodads with our SunshineLoom. It is so easy to use, and there are even more advanced techniques and patterns you can make when you become proficient at the basic concept! To be honest, I have made bracelets AFTER the kids have gone to bed because I love it so much!
As a parent, we are always looking for ways to motivate our children to be their best – whether it is healthy eating, following the rules, getting good grades, or doing their chores. One way to do this is with a reward system, using some sort of tracker to mark when the behaviors are met and then rewarding them for a job well done. Schoolstickers.com has been creating colorful, fun and personalized charting products since 2000!
This House Needs A Mouse by C. Jeffrey Nunnally is a cute story about a mouse that is unhappy with his pet-shop, caged existence. When a family comes into the store looking for a special mouse for their house (no, I’m not going to spoil the story!), he finds himself free and happy. But, when the family decides to move and a new family moves in, his life goes from grand to horrible in a blink of a eye.
Adam Brown was a Navy SEAL who woke up on March 17th, 2010 and didn’t know it was his last day to live. He had written a letter to his children that was only to be read if he died and in it said, “I’m not afraid of anything that might happen to me on this earth, because I know no matter what, nothing can take my spirit from me.” Fearless by Eric Blehm chronicles Adam Brown’s life and death. His determination, courage, and very existence were driven by faith, family, and the love of a woman.

When the twins started school this year, I had to sit down with a permanent marker and label everything with their names and information. Twice, because there are two of everything. (The story of my life…) After getting everything labeled, I thought to myself it would have been so much easier if I could have had a label of some sort to label everything. A few weeks after the labeling fiasco, I was contacted to review Kidecals….
Brrrr. I don’t know about you, but today I could feel the chill in the air when I left the house this morning. Autumn is on its way. Football games, tailgate parties, cozy blankets, and crisp air. My favorite season! One of my favorite things to do during the chilly Autumn season is to cook meals in my Crockpot so the whole house smells yummy and inviting… and I can laze the day away with a warm blanket and a good book.
Being a mom, I know how well rewards work for my kids in getting them to do the things I want – whether it be brushing their teeth, getting dressed, or whatever it is. In the past, I have used paper charts with stickers and check marks. When I was asked to review the My Growing Up Reward Chart by the Victoria Chart Company I was excited!
Smile Brilliant is a at-home professional teeth whitening system that allows you to create custom-filled teeth whitening trays at home without an expensive trip to the dentist! Trust me, I am well versed in teeth whitening. When I was a child, I took tetracycline for ear infections. If you are not familiar with tetracycline, one of the unknown side effects at the time was discolored teeth. I spent my entire childhood and middle school years being ridiculed for my stained teeth. I’ve had family members buy me smokers toothpaste, students in my civics class bought me a toothbrush for Christmas, and was continuously called “Old Yeller” for several years. (more…)
