Whenever I get the opportunity to review a book by Michele Gorman, I get excited. She is one of those authors who write like they are your best friend and always has a great tale to weave. Her latest book, Match Me If You Can is no exception.
A few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to try out and review the Amazingly Beautiful AM and PM Revitalizer package from Trusted Health Products, which I loved. (You can check out that review here.) When Trusted Health Products asked me to try their Moisturizing Body Serum, also in the Amazingly Beautiful line, I jumped at the chance. As someone with very sensitive skin, I am always looking for a gentle, natural lotion to combat skin dryness. The body serum contains natural ingredients: orange peel oil, sweet almond kernel oil, lime peel oil, lemon peel oil, olive fruit oil, and avocado fruit oil… no harsh or unnatural chemicals.
If you are like most people, you came up with a few New Year’s resolutions for 2016. These are usually things like losing weight and eating right. But, if you are like me… my resolution was to reduce stress. I’ve tried yoga, meditation, and other techniques like that. But, nothing ever seemed to work for me… probably because I cannot just sit and let my mind go blank like that for an extended period of time.
Recently Don, the kids and I had a chance to attend the LEGO® Creativity Tour in Columbus, Ohio. If you are a fan of LEGO bricks, then visiting the Creativity Tour or LEGO Fest is a must! Just the Big Brick Pile is worth the visit! Can you imagine a HUGE pile of LEGO® bricks that you can jump in, make “LEGO® angels” in, or just sit and imagine how many bricks are really in the pile! I am just glad I don’t have to clean it up!
I was given the opportunity to try out Trusted Health Products’ Amazingly Beautiful A.M. Moisturizer and P.M Revitalizer for Women recently. Trusted Health Products uses all natural ingredients and no chemicals! With my sensitive skin, I thought it might be better than using harsh cleaners like I usually do, so I gave it a try.
If you have a child that has a love for LEGO® bricks or you yourself still play with them… you have to check out the LEGO Creativity Tour! You won’t believe that so many LEGO bricks exist in one place! It is amazing! From the life size models to the fun activities for families! It is a fun, creative time that can be spent sharing your love of all things LEGO with your children! The best part is, this year the LEGO Creativity Tour is coming to the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus! AND… you can win TWO tickets to attend on Friday night! (Link below!)
It’s that time of year – pumpkin carving time! This year, we had an opportunity to try out Pumpkin Master tools and stencils… pumpkin carving has come a long way from when I was a kid! Back in those days, you used a kitchen knife and made geometric cuts while trying not to slice your finger off! This year, it was an added bonus… it was the first time we ever carved pumpkins with the twins! In the past, we have always just let them use markers and paint. But, this year we thought we would try carving since the Pumpkin Master tools are safer than regular knives.
Let’s face it – when you have kids, date nights are few and far between. As busy parents of 6 year-old twins, we have to improvise. Sometimes, date night is dinner out or heading out to the dirt track, or sitting on the couch watching football. When I was given a chance to try Breyers® Gelato Indulgences™ for Don and I’s next date night, I kinda chuckled to myself. Really? Ice cream? Boy, was I wrong. As Breyers® says, “Its way beyond ice cream.”
Little Sacrifices by Jamie Scott is a coming-of-age story set in the late 1940’s in the deep south. Amidst racial turmoil, May Powell must find her way in the world while living in a segregated world. For those who don’t know, Jamie Scott is Michele Gorman’s pen name… but this isn’t Michele’s normal rom-comedy book. It is a powerful, and at times heart-wrenching, book about the struggle of growing up in the deep south with racial tension all around.
